INTERNSHIPS

SET-Idiomas offers you the chance of joining its internship program in Cordoba. This is the best way for you to gain work experience in Argentina, while simultaneously learning Spanish.
Candidates will have the unique opportunity of preparing for their future work in this country through total immersion in Argentine culture and society.

Our programs afford invaluable work experience to all participants, who can acquire new skills in the context of a totally different culture.

What is the SET Internship Program all about?
An internship is a temporary job in a business or other organization, in a post whose duties are related to a profession or field of study, affording each intern or trainee a significant experience related to his/her professional future.

SET’s Internship Program produces an interchange of ideas and know-how that is highly beneficial for both the trainee and the participant business or organization.

We carefully choose your job to match your profile, so as to make your working stay in our country as gratifying and fruitful as possible. Our offer includes a wide range of posts in Cordoba’s main businesses and organizations, enabling us to prioritize your expectations and needs when allocating you to a job.

In Argentina, paid traineeships are not a viable possibility due to the red tape and delays involved in obtaining working visas for foreigners.

SET’s Internships are therefore not remunerated because in this way no working visa is required.

To apply for an internship you must have a level of Spanish that enables you to carry out the duties of your allocated job in an acceptable way. Additionally, our programs in SET offer you the chance of combining your internship work with a Spanish language course. Both work and study are programmed according to each participant’s specific needs.

All our internships last a minimum of 8 weeks (2 months). No internship may last longer than 24 weeks (6 months). In every case, the length of time will depend on the internship program chosen, and the level of expertise the applicant wishes to attain.

Why should you do an internship in Argentina?
-Because you will obtain valuable experience of working abroad.
-Because your level of Spanish will improve and you will learn work area-related            language skills.
-Because thus you will be totally immersed in the foreign culture.
-Because you will learn through hands-on experience.
-Because the fact of going through this kind of experience will set you apart from your peers, giving you “value-added” skills.
-Because it will enable you to view your profession from a wider perspective, since different viewpoints are exchanged within the work team.
-Because you will make new work contacts in a foreign country.
-Because Argentine society is noted for its hospitality and welcomes foreigners with      open arms.
-Because businesses and other organizations in Cordoba are well disposed to receive      foreign trainees and ease their job insertion.

The allocation process
When we allocate a job to a participant, we analyze his/her background, experience and expectations thoroughly, in order to offer him/her the most suitable job available within our range of options.

Within the allocation process, the following evaluation criteria are used:

1). Spanish language level: all the jobs require a certain level of Spanish language knowledge, depending on the duties involved. Some duties require an advanced language level, whereas for others a pre-intermediate level is good enough.
In any case, if necessary, the participant can improve his/her Spanish language level by combining the traineeship program with a Spanish language course at SET. We strongly recommend this option, because the period prior to traineeship enables the future trainee to achieve a higher degree of cultural and social integration.

2). Study and labor background: All of the candidate’s labor and academic experience weighs heavily in the selection of a potential job.

3). Duration of the internship: generally speaking, the duration of the internship will influence the type of tasks to be carried out by the candidate in his/her job. All internships last between 8 and 24 weeks.

4). Interests and needs: Basically, your duties as a trainee will be determined as a function of your interests and needs. This is why a clear expression of your aims and expectations will make it easier for us to provide you with a job that meets your requirements.
